B.A.S.I.C.S. ABA Therapy, LLC provides services to children and adults on and off the Autism Spectrum using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other evidence-based practices. We have extensive experience working with children with Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, Autism, Asperger’s, and other similar diagnosis. We serve a wide range of children with a variety of cognitive functioning levels. We have had wonderful success with highly verbal children teaching social skills, emotional regulation, and executive functioning skills. We are also proud of our work teaching language and play skills to clients who are pre-verbal or nearly pre-verbal. We also focus on reducing problem behaviors such as aggression, property destruction, and tantrums by teaching more effective replacement behaviors.
B.A.S.I.C.S. ABA Therapy, LLC is designed around the core belief that ABA is an overall philosophy and outlook on behavior. We believe that people engage in behaviors in order to have a need met. It is our job to determine what that need is and either continue to reinforce the behavior or teach the client an appropriate way to have that need met. We believe that positive interventions should be exhausted before any punishment procedures should be used.
B.A.S.I.C.S. ABA Therapy, LLC supports an integrated model of care and prefers to work closely with Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and other types of therapists (if applicable) to help ensure a cohesive strategy of treatment. When parents, therapists, and the client work collaboratively, clients have the best outcomes. We all have a role in creating, implementing, and revising all therapy protocols. As professionals, B.A.S.I.C.S. ABA Therapy, LLC will make recommendations but families and clients ultimately have the final say in program decisions.
B.A.S.I.C.S. ABA Therapy, LLC is data oriented and typically develops programming that can be implemented in different ways. All data is graphed daily and families have full access to treatment binders. We prefer natural environment teaching but also utilize discrete trial methods, Pivitol Response strategies, some academic teaching methods (like Touch Math) and some play therapy strategies as well.
