On October 12th B.A.S.I.C.S. visited the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) for an on-campus hiring event. Christine Munoz, BASICS Controller (and former Director of Operations), accepted the invitation of Ms. Luellen Conti, Coordinator of Employment Outreach for the Office of Career Services, to set up a career information table. Her goal was to get students excited about the growing field of ABA and to recruit for open positions. Ms. Munoz presented the HR Manager (and current Director of Operations) Celia Garcia Perez with a list with 26 motivated students to follow up with. The students came from the fields of Education, Health, Social Work, and Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Four interviews were scheduled shortly thereafter, and BASICS is proud to welcome our two newest UDC additions to our awesome therapy team! Join us in welcoming Behavior Technicians Donneis Hunt, A.A. in Corrections Administration; and Benjamin Hassell, M.A. in Instructional Systems Design!
According to Ms. Conti, UDC “was delighted to host.” She reported that the “students were excited to have the company visit the campus and we received very favorable feedback from the participants following the event.”
This was just our first step! We look forward to building and strengthening our connections with all of the local universities in the DMV. Together we will continue to grow and develop a talented pool of individuals to provide top-notch, customized, evidence-based ABA therapy!
