Saundra Bishop, MS, BCBA
is the founder and Lead Clinician of B.A.S.I.C.S. ABA Therapy, LLC. She has over 10 years of experience working in Applied Behavior Analysis and with people on the Autism Spectrum (including Asperger's and PDD-NOS). She has extensive experience working in group homes, schools, and client homes. She has worked with clients ages 18 months to 65 years old. In addition to this, she is mom and a foster parent. Saundra is a certified trainer for "The Secrets of Modern Parenting" and Level 1 Certified in the PRT method of ABA. She is especially passionate about aggression reduction, early-intervention, and adolescent social skills acquisition. She is also certified to give trainings that qualify for Type-2 CEUs.
DeVita, M.Ed; Ed.S, BCBA
is a certified School Psychologist in the District of Columbia. She has worked with clients from infants to young adults for over nine years. She has a passion for working with students of varying ethnicities and cultures. Her research interests include increasing the language capacity of bilingual students and building academic skills utilizing behavior analytic techniques. DeVita is the proud mom to two rescue dogs. Evan, MS, BCBA
has over 7 years of experience working with individuals with autism, and other co-morbid diagnoses’. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis - his Master’s thesis focused on staff training, more specifically how to increase treatment integrity and overall efficacy across large agencies and programs. He has extensive knowledge designing and implementing functional living skills for older individuals, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, designing Behavior Intervention Plans, and training paraprofessional’s to carry out the necessary components of each plan.
has volunteered at a therapeutic recreational program and is currently working with Beyond the BASICS Aftercare. In the future, Adanna aspires to become a social worker and ABA therapist. She is interested in in psychology and enjoys singing, dancing and modeling.
is a native of Philadelphia, and has recently relocated to DC. He has taught and trained elementary and middle school student’s as an educator. Growing up he worked in a club / restaurant / hall, during which time he catered over 100 events. He has continued utilizing his culinary skill set by catering small events for friends and family as a personal chef. When time allows, you can find Benjamin dancing, bike riding, playing tennis and just socializing.
Gerra, BA, RBT
has earned a B.A. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: American Sign Language and Psychology. She enjoys helping children reach their social & academic goals and looks forward to serving in the DMV area.
Jamila, BS, RBT
has a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She has previously worked for therapeutic recreation programs, support programs for adults with special needs, and group homes for young adults with special needs. Jamila also served as the site supervisor for an after school program for at-risk youth. She is from the DMV and her hobbies include photography, singing, dancing, and doing hair and makeup. Currently she is pursuing credentialing as a Registered Behavior Technician.
is currently pursuing a masters in Psychology and RBT certification. In the long run, she strive to provide psychological services and implement effective interventions for children and adolescents of different needs- eventually branching out to underserved populations of the world. In her free time, she loves playing music, singing and spending time with loved ones.
is a senior psychology major who has a strong passion for the field of therapy and has worked with children for several years using music therapy. She loves the power of music! She plays the violin and DJs on the side. She is a mother of one and is always striving to become better in all aspects of her life. She plans to continue her education and study behavioral science and receive a PsyD in counseling psychology.
is from Fairfax, VA and earned a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a minor in Psychology. She started working with children at an early age; providing classroom support for students with IEPs, Autism, ED, ADHD, Asperger's and Down Syndrome. Her childcare experience has accumulated to 10+ years and 6 years working with children with disabilities and Autism. She obtained her RBT License and worked as an ABA therapist for several years in Virginia. She looks forward to making it my job to help my clients progress in their individual goals so that they can grow, continue to be engaged and become very active members of society!
is a native Washingtonian and has earned a bachelor’s degree in Special Education. She has been working in the field of Special Education as a Paraprofessional educator for grades K-12 for the past 10 years. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and thrives to make a difference in the community.
is a native of North Carolina, relocated to Virginia in 2017 and currently majoring in elementary education. She currently works with 3 - 5th graders as a special education assistant teacher and previously, an assistant group leader with Beyond the BASICS. She began working with children as a teenager and realized her true passion for education while working at a summer enrichment program with at risk middle school students. She is excited about earning her RBT and plans to one day become a BCBA. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with family.
is a native of Queens in New York City and relocated to DC in 2014 for Americorps. He has taught and trained elementary and middle school students in track and field. Growing up he played sports which included basketball, track and football. When time allows, you can find Quinten dancing, cooking, playing football and just socializing.
grew up in Rockville, Maryland. She is a recent college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She enjoys music, travel, and nature.

Her personal endeavors were inspired by a close family member living with Multiple Sclerosis and has motivated her to pursue a career related to programs designed for educating, encouraging and developing people with special needs/disabilities. She delights in making others happy and giving a helping hand. She enjoys traveling (currently planning a cross country road trip), photography, singing and quality time with family. She is very ecstatic for her new role as a RBT and looks forward to helping others. She plans to pursue a career and go to school to earn degree in psychology.

Tien, BS, RBT
has a degree in Psychology. His strive to work in the medical field has led him to work with adults with disabilities in the past prior to graduating. Immigrating from a foreign country also gave Tien the appreciation for other cultures and perspective. He hopes to continue his passion to help people gain skills using ABA.
has worked in group homes with adults, in Autism classrooms, and recently finished his tenure as a teacher at a senior high school. He is a father to an active 4 year old, infant, foster parent and has volunteered in orphanages all over the world. He has worked with various age groups but particularly enjoys working with pre-teens and teenagers.
is fluent in Spanish and English. The first of 3 children, she relocated to Washington, D.C. in 2011 to pursue her career. She started her career in the medical field as a medical and dental assistant. Her number one passion and motivation has always been working with and helping children. In her spare time she loves activities with her family, hiking, rafting, working out at the gym and dancing with friends in Zumba class.
Yanita, BS, RBT
has her degree in Psychology. Her passion for working with children drove her to work a children's hospital dedicated to children with autism, shortly after graduation. Having recently moved closer to the DC area, Yanita continued to pursue her passion for helping/working with children as a Therapist for BASICS. Yanita is very interested in continuing her education and plans to pursue her Masters in Clinical and Behavioral Psychology.
Christine, BS, BA
works to ensure smooth operations by communicating regularly with insurance companies, management and our clients. Christine received her BS in Accounting and her BS in Finance. She loves spending time with her children.
has over 7 years of experience in accounting and finance as both senior accountant and accounting supervisor, and also 4 years experience in banking. She is CPA certified (inactive) in the state of Washington and holds a BA in Business Administration, Accounting. She enjoys exploring Rock Creek Park with her husband and three young children.
Director of Operations
has a masters in Ethics, Peace, and Global Affairs with a concentration in human rights and gender. Previously she served on the board of a local non-profit working on maternal health policy advocacy. Celia has 10 years combined experience in administration, case management, contracting and government consultation. She is passionate about access to evidence-based, culturally sensitive healthcare services for women and children. She oversees HR, professional development, privacy and security, contracts and credentials and G Suite.
has over 2 years of Administrative experience, and two years experience working as a Special Education Paraprofessional. She has her Associates in Liberal Arts, with a concentration in English. In her free time, she enjoys helping wildlife. She has connected with wildlife rehabilitators to help ensure the safety and needs of all animals are met. She also enjoys hikes and is an avid reader. Her favorite author is Steinbeck.
IT & Facilities Manager / Scheduling Specialist
has a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science and currently pursuing a MS in Information Assurance. He most recently worked with a non-profit organization as the Pre-College Programs Director where he identified, recruited and prepared at-risk youth for the rigors of enrolling, attending and graduating from post-secondary institutions. Prior to his career in college preparatory education, he was a math teacher. He enjoys performing and martial arts; he is a martial arts instructor and a practiced cellist. He is frequently joined by his wife and child at the Capoeira school who enjoy kicking him often.
HR Executive Assistant
has over 15 years experience in different areas of the corporate world, including project management and operations management. She is also a martial arts instructor and enthusiast, with a passion for teaching Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for women's self-defense. She also loves to travel and spend time with her 2 daughters.
supports Our Controller and Assistant Controller with all tasks related to Billing (insurance claims), Authorizations/Reporting (for ABA therapy) and Accounting/Finance (for the company). She has a degree in Respiratory Therapy and has over 10-years experience in the medical field. Her tasks are mostly "behind the scenes" and crucial to the daily operations and support of the company. She has a passion for helping others and has a can-do attitude. In her free time, she enjoys making memories with her family and friends.
has a degree in Child Development and is currently working toward her Master’s in Education. Originally from Texas, she moved to D.C. for AmeriCorps before beginning her career in education. She has worked with children in various capacities for about 8 years and loves finding ways to help children learn and express themselves effectively. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, basketball, and practicing Capoeira.
